Clownfish is a voice translator used in many communication applications, such as Skype and Discord. It has many different features, including real-time voice translation in dozens of different languages, as well as support for changing your speech field. Clownfish is one of the most popular voice changer applications available on the Internet.
Despite their popularity, clownfish also suffer from occasional bugs. One of these drawbacks is when the clown fails to work for Skype. Other times, clownfish may fail to work completely on your computer. This technical issue may be caused by an unfavorable version of Skype or by various reasons why your microphone is out of sync. We have listed one solution available to solve this problem. Start with the first and reduce the workload.
Solution1: Check your version of Skype
Microsoft is officially debating whether computers that do not have SSE2 guidelines set up are compatible with the latest version of Skype. If Skype is not fully compatible with your machine, many different features will not be activated.
SSE2 (Streaming SIMD Extensions 2) belongs to the instructions for Intel SIMD (Single Instruction Multiple Data) with the initial versions of Pentium 4. These days, SSE2 is compatible almost everywhere in the computer market. If you have an older processor, you should check the version of Skype installed on your computer. Microsoft has officially stated that the new Skype application does not support proper clownfish.
- Launch the Skype application installed on your computer. After opening the application, click on your profile picture in the upper left corner of the window.
- A new window appears. Now select “For this version” from the list of options
- Here are the details for all versions. If you have an older computer, it is recommended that you upgrade to version 7.5. After degrading the version, we hope you can use Clownfish without any errors.
Solution 2: Update the clownfish version
Clownfish finds it very difficult to keep track of all the applications (Reject, Skype, etc.) that provide its services. Frequent updates for target errors or incompatibilities should be made. You are using the latest version of the communication application (Skype or Reject, etc.), but you have installed an older version of Clownfish. In this case, you will not be able to operate it under appropriate conditions.
You need to go to the official Clownfish website, download the latest available version, and install it accordingly. After installing it, restart the computer and make sure that the problem that is available to you is solved.
Note: You can try restarting your computer in Safe Mode to confirm that there is an external application with Clownfish. If clownfish works as expected in Safe Mode, it means that a third-party application may be causing the problem. You can start the application one by one and start filtering them by checking each iteration. Once you have determined the application, uninstall it, and restart the computer.
